Stainless steel heat exchangers
Are any of the stainless steel heat exchangers used in boilers made in the USA? Does any boiler manufacturer produce their own heat exchangers (not counting cast iron)? Thanks

I don't know - a call to the prospective boiler manufacturers would answer that. Also, find out the specific stainless alloy used.
Stainless steel presents some potential issues. Depending somewhat upon the specific alloy, stainless is susceptible to stress-corrosion cracking induced by chlorides in the water. Need to compare the chloride concentration in the raw water to the boiler specs.
Also, stainless has a lower heat-transfer coefficient that either cast iron or carbon steel.
