Removing hot water storage tank from boiler.

hello, I have a wm wtgo4 tankless water heater boiler in series w/ an old electric water heater,which is leaking from the bottom.i want to bypass the old water heater for now.it's got flex copper hookups.i've got a new flex sst.to do this.i plan to shut off water supply to boiler and relieve pressure from the tank.tell my wife not to open any faucets. make my connections without upsetting the boiler in this cold.any thoughts appreciated.loc

If I understand what you want to do correctly, there's no need to shut off the water to the boiler... unless you mean the DOMESTIC water that feeds into the tankless coil in the boiler.

Is that what you mean?

yes that's what I mean-it's the same line.also will shut off before and after afv to boiler.tnks
