Feed to indirect tank

In my current setup, I have my boiler heating an indirect 40gal tank. I have the opportunity of getting a GL4S electric water heater for cheap. Would there be any benefit of plumbing it inline with the supply to my indirect tank to "pre heat" the supply water?

Any other uses for these in a hydronic system?

Feel free to come out and say I am an idiot if this is in fact the case.

Hi North, That unit is a 4 gallon 'point of use' heater and I really don't think it would do you much good to put it in-line to your indirect...

how cheap is cheap? They are about $180 or so new... I don't think I would give anyone more than $25 for a used one.

If you do get it you would probably be better off using it for it's intended function, installed at the kitchen sink or the laundry.

Cheap would be like $60 for brand new. Thanks for the response. That was my suspicion. I really don't have any issues getting hot water to my fixtures right now (usually get water within 30sec or so if left overnight or all day), so I will just leave well enough alone.
