Question Maid-O-Mist Air Automatic Vent

Hello

My hot water heat system makes a lot of banging noise in all zones, 3 zone system with about 5 “Maid-O-Mist Automatic Air Vent” installed all over the system. I opened the cover valve of each of those vents and I pressed the valve until all air and little water came out, now those vent full of water, no water leaks from the valve but no air anymore inside the valves only water , do I need to replace these air vent or still good? Also the banging did not go away. Any help appreciated Thanks

air vents

Hi, I always understood that those vents are supposed to automatically release air that's trapped inside them, IF the screw-on cap is left loose. The problem I've had with them is that after a few years they start to leak water from the "valve" (like a tire valve). They're cheap enough to replace. Not sure about your banging-
Steve
