heat keeps on heating
I have a multi-zone heating system. Lately, one of the zones have been behaving strangely. I set my programmable thermostat to 66 degrees (for the time period when we come home after work), but the heat is working till temperature reaches 69 or even 70 and only then it shuts off. The thermostat appears to be acting normally -- it says "heat on" when the temperature is below 66, and when it reaches 66, it no longer says that; but the baseboards are always very warm and the toekick heater I have tied into that zone just keeps blowing warm air.
So, my question: is it a problem with the thermostat, even though it seems to be functioning normally, or with the boiler (I have EK System 2000)? Is there an easy way to find out short of replacing the thermostat? Again, it's only one of the four zones that's doing it. Thanks.

From what you describe, it sounds like the t-stat is working OK.
Are the zones controlled by separate pumps, or zone valves?

You may have a weak/dead battery or bad relay in the thermostat.

I actually did that yesterday, and the input light for that zone was not on (the output light for that zone on the right side was on), but the baseboards were hot and the toekick heater kept blowing hot air.

Check the zone valve that goes to that zone.
It is likley open, it either has power or has failed in open position
If it has power to it, then your zone control system will need electrical troubleshooting.
