Riello 40 F5 burner

I recently changed my oil filter and was trying to bleed the oil pump by jumping out terminals 5 & 6 on the control to run just the motor. It did not work. Is there another way to run just the motor to bleed pump?

Terminal 5 is 120v line.
Terminal 6 is the air shutter - power in line.

Terminal or junction 11 is the motor. Shorting terminal 5 to point 11 will run the motor.
Does the electric valve need to be open for purging ?

The wiring diagram is on page 9.

I'm not an oil burner specialist but in the following link is the manual for your burner and on pages 14 and 15 is the Weil-Mclain recommended purging procedure.
