Question Water level gauge glass tube cleaning

The glass is full of rusty water and would like to know whether opening the valve on the bottom of the glass will be the right way to clean it. I started refilling the boiler but it doesn't clear it.

The hot water and rust etch and stain the glass sight tube. Draining the water and refilling won't clean it.

You could possibly remove and clean it but I just replace the tube with a new one.

Thank you Pjmax - now, if I only want to clean it, do I open the valve on the lower part of the tube?

Usually the boiler needs to be empty.

I'd need to see a picture of your setup. http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...-pictures.html
