What is this boiler noise?!

Hi all,

Wondering if you could advise on the attached video - my boiler has started making a loud clanging sound and i'm not sure what it is; any ideas?

Boiler is a Glowworm Ultracom2 30sxi.

What is the system pressure and temperature when you hear the noise?

Glow Worm is a UK boiler that I'm not familiar with.

Very hard to tell what that noise is from the video. It sounds like a damper rattling.

Boiler blow off / High pressure

I recently noticed that my boiler was letting out hot water via the high pressure safety valve. So i have replaced said valve and the old one did seem to be full of stuff which i thought was why it was leaking. My entire boiler was replaced about 7-8 years ago so its not exactly old. Its a 3 zone oil fired hot water system 1 circulator pump 3 zone valves. I still have issues with high pressure in the boiler and it occasionally opening to release pressure. From what i understand if this is operating properly i should not see more than 30 psi on the guage being the water inlet pressure should only be 15 or so and a bit of pressure because of expanding water from being heated. My water expansion tank on the side of the boiler seems to generally be about half full, this is just a guesstimate from me tapping on it but i assume that is about right. why is there air in the tigerloop? and/or what to do?

Hi Have two oil boilers each with a tigerloop. Both boilers work fine. And a Webster pump supplies oil to both boilers from underground tank. Two pipe system. One tigerloop never has any air, the other always a minimal to moderate amount in the tigerloop. A heating company (which I like) has explored the situation and done “everything” to the affected boiler. Tightened all joints. Replaced the tigerloop. Replaced the oil pump. Etc. But still a minimal to moderate amount of air in the new tigerloop. So… 1) Do I just live with it? 2) Do I get a “second opinion”? 3) What might be the caused we missed? Thank you.Read More
