Aquastat for indirect HWH

Can I use a Honeywell L8124 A,C as the control for an indirect WH instead of an L4080B? I will wire one of the outputs (boiler or circulator) to the thermostat terminals in a TACO 4-zone control panel that will control a separate circulator and provide priority to the WH.

I suppose.

The L4080B is just a standalone high limit thermostat.
The L8124AC is a full aquastat and will require AC power to operate.

Thanks for pointing out about the AC power. If I thought it through I would have realized that the relay needs power to operate. I was just thinking of a cost saving since I have an L8124AC on hand. Even though I do my own wiring the time and effort as well as adding a possible point of failure is not worth it. I'll go with the L4080B.
