Well-Mac boiler won't ignite

My mother just called and sai she has not heat. Said the boiler igniter glows red but now flame. I told her I'd make he 40 mile drive to look at it
Not sure of the model yet.
But would there be a thermalcouple ? Or what should I be checking..?
I know I haven't provided much information. But will come back with more .
But any precheck help would be great
Thanks Buzz

That would indicate a problem. Rather then list everything..... the link below is the troubleshooting instructions for that control.

The gas valve is turned on..... right ?
