Quietside dpw 199a water boiler heater problem

Hi, my unit's burner doesn't start up, it has an error code of "pump detection switch open" i was wondering what that is? A plumber came by unplug the remote control from the unit, and it starts working again but it won't detect the hot water level, thus we have no hot water unless the heat is turned on, is it really the remote control problem, is there a replacement from other brands that i have to use or has to be Quietside? i know they discontinued the product line already.

Seems like the pressure meter is broken too, any where i can find a replacement?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I combined your threads. One topic = one thread.

I'm looking for usable technical information for your problem unit. I haven't found it yet. Quietside seems to have had a lot of problems with the company and their heaters.

Pump detection is that the heater needs to know it has proper water circulation before heating.,

I've been seeing this recall pop up on your unit...

This manual is for the C version of the unit but appears to also cover your A model.

On page 28 in the manual is the parts pictorial/breakdown. The pump detection switch is pictorial part # 320. On the pages following that is the exact code displayed based on diagnostic code for testing the detection switch.

manualslib/manual//Quietside-Dpw-199c.html

I was not able to find a picture of the part on any American web site. It was shown and listed on several Russian websites. This pic is from a Russian site.

Quietside

Extremely problematic units to the point that Samsung no longer produces the boiler nor does it provide support. There was a company called Challenger that provided tech support and you could get parts from them however, Challenger is either out of business or has washed their hands of Quietside products. Best advice I can give here is a new, more reliable combination unit. If I am allowed to suggest a brand, I would look to Navien.

Thanks for the additional info poorplmbr. It's rare that I can't find any parts for a unit and your post explains it. Navien is good replacement brand.

Quietside

If you already have an indirect fired water heater then you only need a heating boiler, not a combination unit. Navien NHB models range from 55,000 to 150,000 BTU..You need to do a heat loss calculation to see what your home needs. There is a sticky that has links to Slantfin and Taco calculators at the top.

Replacement Pump for DPW-199A

Been reading the various messages and it looks like this inquiry might not result in a good ending.

Freezing weather apparently has affected the pump inside the box; pump looks just like the one in the second picture from charliehua's nov 26th post. Been leaking, thin lines of water spray that's hitting other parts. Could be seal is shot or whatever,
For now, was able to stabilize the unit and have hot water and heat but water drip continues.

Any suggestions where to ask online for replacement pump? Doesn't sound like Quietside went quiet and new owner Samsung might not be of help.

Per DPW-199A Manual (Revision 1): Parts List # 321 Pump has Part #2050126; made by ChungSuk Co Ltd., member of Gundice group.

Thanks in advance
