Gas furnace fan

Hi.

So the fan sometimes has trouble starting. You hear a constant loud buzz noise like its trying to click on. Then after about a minute if it doesnt click on it just fails, the buzz goes away, but the heat continues without the fan. At that point because the air isnt being pushed the thermostat would just keep asking for heat and not turn off and on. It happens more so when the heat was off for a while. Any ideas?

Thanks

Possibly the capacitor for the fan. If you CAREFULLY give it a nudge with a stick or something (not a finger) does it start turning and run up to speed? Could be dirty, might need lubed (though most are sealed now), bad cap would be my choice if the other two are ok.

The Pro's will need brand and model number to be more helpful when they get here.
