Cool Air coming from vents

Weirdest thing started happening today. We have old steam radiators for heat in our home and central air for air conditioning. On the first floor both heat and AC are controlled by same thermostat. When we turn the heat on we also get slightly cool (just below room temperature) air coming from the central air vents as well.

Any thoughts why this happens?

That doesn't sound right. It's either wired wrong or programmed wrong.
What thermostat is it ?

Next time it happens check your AC blower and see if it's running which it sounds like it is.

As PJ said, it sounds like to got wiring problems somewhere so your stat wires are activating your boiler and your AC.

Hope this helps a little.
