Moniitron Electric Boiler Slant fin

Something caused boiler to stay running but not getting hot water for showers and home heat kept at 18. Power consumption was excessive averaged $700 per month for last three months (1100 Square foot). Heating and plumbing guy came in yesterday and changed zone valve. Early this morning temp went up to 320 and pressure was at 200. Shut off unit. Plumber came back and turned on unit and said there is a electrical smell and left saying I need to call an electrician. Is there something that by changing zone valve incorrectly that could cause the boiler to over heat

Welcome to the forums.

You should put Canada in your bio for your location.
Heat at 18 ?
Temp 320 ? 320 what ?
Pressure at 200 ? 200 what ?

You had a heating and plumbing guy there and he can't take of your problem ?
He determined there is an electrical smell...... what is that ?
Time to find a real technician.

The zone valve could have been mis-wired but the boiler shouldn't overheat.
