New Beckett Oil Burner Motor Kicks Safety Shutoff

Replaced the burner motor. The old one would hang up and would restart with a rest and a tap. The new motor starts up on demand but kicks the safety after running for a while. Will restart on reset but shut off again. Reinstalled the old motor and it works fine with the occasional reset need with a tap. What could be causing the motor to kill the system. Motor runs fine on the bench. It is a Beckett 21805u 1/7 HP 3450 RPM. same HP and RPM as the old.

How long does it run before it shuts down on safety and does it do it consistently after running the same amount of time. If the motor runs fine when bench testing then it's either another problem like a defective cad cell possibly or the load being put on the motor with the fan and pump attached is too much.

Make sure your pump turns freely and your blower wheel is properly aligned or possibly but not likely a bad motor even though it's new it does happen. The older style motors had there own reset when the motor overloaded which the new style do not so the system reset goes off.

Make sure you have a steady fire once it fires up. Pics may be helpful.

Hope this helps a little.
