Question How to Select Gas Valve Replacement for Old Furnace

We have a furnace model Utica M100AGB. I don't think they are making this one anymore, and can't find the documentation. The boiler is fine, but the gas control valve, or gas valve it is using needs to be replaced.

The gas valve label is difficult to read, and i can make out some numbers and have deduced that the model of the gas valve is VR800 A 1012, which was made by Honeywell but is apparently not made anymore, since I also can not find documentation on that. So I need to find a gas valve that will work with my outdated furnace for which i cant find documentation.

Can someone help me figure out how to chose a gas valve for my furnace?

Thank you,
Robertr

Is this a 24-V valve with a standing pilot and a thermocouple? Or what? What are the pipe connection sizes and end-to-end distance? Post photos of the valve and the system it is installed into. With that info, you should be able root thru gas valves on Supplyhouse.com and find several candidates.

Welcome to the forums.

I don't consider replacing a gas valve a DIY project unless you are very familiar with the operation of valves.

As Gil mentioned armed with information a replacement should be able to be found.
Question: what is the problem with yours ?
There are external problems that can point to a defective gas valve.

Consider calling your local gas provider.
They typically have good technicians and their prices are lower than independent service techs.

How-to-insert-pictures.

This is just one option. If you did some research there may be others if you cross referenced your valve on Honeywell cross reference pages or call Honeywell.
