Hydronic baseboard missing hangers for inside return?
Homeowner troubleshooting nosiy hydronic baseboard installed new 7 years ago. Noise is pings that i am assuming is rubbing of the fins. Removed cover and noticed return line sitting on top of fins, looks like there's a cutout for hangers to support.
So first question, is my theory of missing hangers causing noise probable?
Second question, can someone help identify the brand system i have and where i can order the hangers?
Thanks Grady, I was debating a solution like that too, and I may go do that. Seemed like pre-made hangers should be cheap and easier to install rather than twisting a bunch of wire.
Yes the return pipe sitting on top of the fins with missing hangers might make added noise.
Lengths of wire can looped through the holes in the bracket that holds up the full length adjustable louver and hold up the return pipe. Superficially I would consider this quicker, easier, and cheaper than researching and then shopping for official brackets that hold up the pipe.
We bought our house 3 years ago. It has a VERY old oil fed boiler that provides both heat and hot water. It is probably at least 25 years old. The home heating seems to be fine, but the hot water for the showers never seems to last. I'm in a quandary about whether to spend the money and replace the whole thing (which I'm guessing would be upwards of $5000 from what I've seen) or add in an electric hot water heater for substantially less. We are planning on selling the house sometime in the next few years. I'm looking for suggestions/recommendations.
Just ran a new 18/5 wire to connect a C wire to the nest 3rd gen. I connected it to the c terminal on the boilers transformer and I am still getting a no power warning. Anybody have any Idea why this could be or could help me with my specific system?
