Lockout light on Carlin
The lockout light on my water heater is red. After a reset, it starts up for a few seconds and then shuts off and lockout ight returns. Any thoughts on a fix?

When you say Carlin I assume you mean Carlin oil burner. Your light is coming on because it's off in safety mode. You are not getting any fire which means you have an oil problem or an ignition problem or it could be a defective cad cell.
If you have no knowledge of this burner you might be better off getting someone to come in.

This is oil right?
When was the last time the unit was cleaned and serviced?
If the unit isn’t lighting and has fuel, you will be pumping the chamber full of fuel by pushing the reset too many times and potentially creating an explosive situation.
