Footbridge construction
I am in the process of building a footbridge across a ditch and wonder if anyone has come across any info on the web on this subject.
I've spent time searching and this info is hard to get.

GregH, yesterday. in the library, I ran across something that may interest you. "The Popular mechanics illustrated home handyman encyclopedia & guide" vol. 4, page 534 [concrete bridge & buttress design for spans of 6-15']. It's short, but has enough detail for the experienced.
Another possible design source: agricultural extension. Section title: "farm repair and improvement with concrete" [Need a concrete hog wallow(?) It's on page 535].
I think this is the oldest "how to" publication in existence. I thought that it was extinct. If you can't find it at your local library www.ablebooks.com is a good source for older and out of print books. Misspell the title and their bot may allow you to search for it in a nearby library.
For kicks I put a serach bot on bridge designs and plans. No useful plans for you, but a couple of sites that may interest you: "bridge basics" http://pghbridges.com/basics.htm One with more detail detail: http://www.ba.brantacan.co.uk/bridges.htm see also: http://www.ba.brantacan.co.uk/arch.htm Poke around.
