roof sealer on ashphalt yard??

so, a family member mistakingly used karnak roof sealant instead of driveway sealant for the ashphalt in the yard of his house.

is this going to be a huge problem? it hasnt been that warm (~75deg) so drying time is slow.. but after ~24hrs, its still pretty tacky.

will it ever dry properly and handle the abuse cars driving on it?

From Kanak's website:
Karnak #505 Elasto Brite-M Seam Sealer is not recommended for use over asphaltic substrates. Contact Karnak Corporation for alternative systems.
This may explain why it has not dried.

It may dry and be slick, from the description of the product's composition.

It might be a good idea to get in touch with them and see what they say.

Karnak 800-526-4236
330 Central Avenue, Clark, NJ 07066
(732) 388-0300

Hope this helps.

ya i contacted them already.. sand and scrape seem to be the only options right now. wow this turned into a lot of work! kinda funny, hopefully i can laugh at him later for the mistake.

i was hoping for alternatives, summin clever to get rid of the mess. cant seal over it either, so hopefully most of it will come up, or i think he just inherited a beach

With winter coming, the cold weather may take care of the problem by causing this to peel off. But I am sure it would be messy.
