Fake (man made) rock siding

I've seen several variations of the "man made" rocks used for siding, but I"ve never seen what I'd like to use, LIMESTONE.

The majority of our exterior is limestone, some wood under the eaves, around the doors etc. However, the exterior of our chimney is 1 X 12, Board and Batten. This is obviously exposed to lots of weather and it's time to replace it. I think it would dress the house up nicely to re-do it as limestone to match the house. There isn't enough bracing in the attic to support stone, but the man made ones I've seen are very lightweight. I guess I could re-side the chimney with the 1/4" Hardiebacker and attach (glue?) the fake limestone to it.

Does anyone have any brand names and has anyone used this stuff, and with what results?

Thanks in advance.

Frank

"fake" stone

"Cultured Stone" from owens Corning is good (www.culturedstone.com). But they don't have a smooth limestone. Otherwise great variation and lots of colors. they also send you fairly large sample boards for free. Good luck!

Checkout Eldorado Stone. They are used extensively here.
