slab for kennels

slab for kennels

i am planning to pooour a 12 x 12 by 3 1/2 deep slab for a kennels (just chaim link) i have plenty of rebar and was going to heavily rebar this do i need a footer for this??? most have told me since no wieght on it that a footer is not needed but one guy told me without a footer the slab my slide and crack.... the soil conditions are good gravel and good drainage

You don't need footers for a kennel slab.

The footer tends to prevent heaving from frost. For a kennel slab you would not seem to need them.

I would use only the 4 inch mesh wire for reinforcement instead of going too far with the rebar. Once again, no real weight on the slab.
