Suggestions on painting lintels

I have lintels on my brick home over the windows. Some have rust spots, so I think I should take care of them. Do you have suggestions on how to paint, caulk, or otherwise treat them?

Thank you,

The rust will be best sealed with a sealing primer such as Zinsser 123 or Kilz alkyd. If the rust originated in the lintels due to imperfections if the components, drilling into the source a bit and caulking the material to seal it away from the surface may help this work last longer.

If you don't want to paint, products for removing rust stains such as lemon juice, CLR and the like may clean the stain enough to enable you to leave the lintels just cleaned.

Hope this helps.
