Painting concrete??

I have read over and over by so called experts to paint concrete. Are they nuts? YES! There are many good concrete stains that would do the job. Paint doesn't last,and it's very hard to get off the surface when it starts to flake off in places.The surface needs to be pressure washed with a 3000+ psi, not a cheap $500 washer. This is needed to get all contaminates out of the surface.

Even with stain there will need to be a finish to protect it.

Alot of stain now days has a sealant in it if it doesnt use a clear seal.

Crawl Space Vapor Barrier

Recently purchased a home in Penn and since the warm weather hit have a strong mildew smell inside. Crawl space has open dirt floor with thin fiber board (insulation) attached to ceiling / floor joist. my question should i put down a vapor barrier on dirt floor? Seems to be alot of pros and cons from people (draps moisture?) Please help Thanks Tom

Here is the problem: http://members.shaw.ca/singlemanwpg/concrete-1.jpg http://members.shaw.ca/singlemanwpg/concrete-2.jpg I have purchased some fine concrete mix as well as some liquid bonding agent, and tried a little bit of patching on the side, but it seems really hard to get the concrete to stick to the vertical surface. I haven't done anything like this before - any tips? Thanks!
