Question Need advice on new slab

I'm having a 24' x 30' garage put in my backyard. I'm been quoted $4500 for just the concrete slab. Is that reasonable or should I resort to other means on getting the slab? I'm thinking the slab is very important in being made right because it supports the garage and I don't want to attempt to do it myself. Any ways to save money on it or should I shop around for a better deal?

thanks,

Dale

As with any project costing a substantial amount of money, you would benefit from 3 quotes.

what time of year did you get the quote? And where are you located in the US?

I'm getting quotes of upwards of $10/sf for a similar project (6500-7500 for a 24x28) and that's before I tell them about the extra deep footings that I'll want.

I'm wondering if there is a rush before the snow in the upper midwest and that is pushing up prices.

Thanks for sharing your details.
