Laying porcelain tile

I'm going to be laying porcelain tile on my front porch (another Honey-do). Do I have to have a special thinset for exterior work? I know that I have to have a special thinset for the porcelain rather than what is used for ceramic. What about grout, also? Any info would greatly be appreciated.

Won't porcelain tile be slick to walk on on the porch when wet?

Porcelain Tile

I was told, at the Home Depot store, that this tile would not be slippery when wet. It is not shiny at all and has a rough surface.

hollow cement floor in basement.....

I built a house last year and I am now ready to put my laminate flooring in my second lever family room(split level house). One of corners under the floors outside wall has settled a little and has a hollow sound to it. Its about 3'x3' pie shaped from the corner. My question is...should I ... a) leave the cement alone and floor over it since I probably wont be putting anything heavy there and hope it doesnt crack. b) drill a hole big enough to pour some sacrete in there to fix the problem c) rent a cement saw, cut a section out, re-cement the 3 feet and go on? thanks in advance for any help.Read More

staining brick

I have a very light colored brick on the outside of my house and would like to stain the brick to a red color. Painting the brick does not appeal to me. I was wondering if you could stain brick and what would be the proper stain to use. Thanks for any suggestionsRead More
