resurfacing an older concrete porch

I have a structurally sound porch that needs new parging on the vertical face and my question is will a new layer 1" thick on the top, of new parging material, bonded with the white bonding liquid adhere or will it shale off? I live in Southern Ontario and I have two different opinions from different cement men.Thanks

the site does not address cold weather climates so I really can't see a skim coat lasting when it's December. I appreciate the link and effort though.

Removing Asphalt b-ball court

I am considering buying a house that has an asphalt basketball court in the back yard! This seems strange to me, but I guess the kids who used it, enjoyed it. Anyway, I'm wondering how hard it would be to break up and remove it? I think this is something I could do myself. Would a sledge hammer do it? If not, what would it take? I estimate that it's been there for 15-20 years. There are cracks and grass peaking through. Once it is broken up, how do I get rid of it? Can I take it to the dump or is there some special way to dispose? Thanks in advance.Read More

Driveway scrapes my car!

I just bought a new house & the stupid driveway has a dropoff at the bottom that always scrapes my car. :eek: After talking to the new neighbors, I have found that all of them have the same problem as well! The builders had put up the curbs first & never bothered to jackhammer the parts where the driveways would be! Now the whole neighborhood is complaining of car damage due to the pathetic workmanship. Is there any way to fix the drop off? It is a sloped curb connected to our driveways! How much would it cost for me to try & fix this crap?? :confused: Thanks!Read More
