Cool bricks in patio sinking

Hi

I have a patio which is around 5 years old, few brick are sinking. I called a person who put some sand and then laid bricks over it, to my surprise next morning it was back to same position, I mean same as before. I called the person, he said there may be a animal like squirrel, you need to call pest control, does it make sense. ? holes I saw at border of patio. Thanks

It may be that a burrowing animal has created a tunnel into which the bricks are settling. Filling the tunnel and laying the bricks is not a solution because the animal digs the filler out of the way. If there are holes at the periphery of the patio, finding out what made them might help.

What do the holes look like? Is there dirt scattered around the entrance? Signs of frequent use? What happens if you block these holes with something? Do you have fruit or nut trees or other feeding sources in the area? Standing water? Steam nearby? Drainage problems? Large tree that was felled in the past few years?
