Question Slab Foundation

Please forgive my ignorance, but what's the difference [or is there one] between a slab on grad and a monolithic slab? I'm trying to understand what kind of foundation we have.

Thanks!

A monolithic slab is a solid piece of concrete poured so as to be structurally the same throughout. Monolithic means same stone: a single, uniform whole.

Most slabs for houses I have seen are poured monolithically, that is: all at one time. An alternative might be one that is poured in layers or sections.

Hope this helps.
