House Wrap under Bricks

Building new home and I want to wrap the house, but contractor says there isn't a need. It will be an all brick exterior with 2 small sections of cedar around the dormers. If I don't need to do it I sure can save that money, but if the small cost of putting it on the house will save me energy down the road, then I want to put it in. Does someone know the advantages and disadvantages of wrapping a house.

Codes Require Wrap

Most building codes require impermeable weather membranes over sheathing and under cedar siding and brick in pretty much nearly all jurisdictions.

If your builder is telling you you don't need a weather barrier under brick or siding, you need to seriously question his abilitiies, go over his head, and inquire of your local code enforcement office.

Sounds like your builder either has no clue or is trying to hose you.
