asphalt vs. brick driveway

We have an asphalt driveway that ends about 10 feet from our fence. Right now there is gravel between the driveway and fence. We want to get rid of the gravel and pave the area. One choice is to asphalt it, another is to brick it. My husband plans on using the area for a small (17 ft.) boat eventually. Would the asphalt hold up the weight of the boat in the heat? Also, if we decide to asphalt it, does the whole drive way need to be redone? We keep going back and forth as to what we want to do, so any advice would be great!

Talking You are on the right track

You dont have a lot of work to do. Try to compact the rock as much as possible and use as a good base for the asphalt. There shouldnt be any issues with the weight unless you go less then a few inches of asphalt. Once your done, reseal the entire driveway and it will look good.
