Can I Use a Concrete Grinder to Level Basement Floor?

I'm trying to lay laminate floor and a small section of the concrete slab is uneven. Unfortunately, it's raised up about 1/4" to 1/2". It seems sloped abruptly enough that the laminate will not lay right.

Can I rent a cement grinder to even the surface? How deep will they cut into the concrete? If I can't, what options do I have? (I'd hate to have to raise the floor to level it... it's a very small section that's uneven.)

you can rent concrete grinders or other equipment that will do the job. Different type of equipment will handle different depths. Call a local rental store to see what they have available.
