Remove half a brick

What is the best way to remove a half of a brick from the side of my house? I need to do this to install a a/c outlet box outside, and I want to flush mount it.

The best way is to use a 1/4" masonry bit and 3" masonry chisel.

Drill holes in the mortar closely together around the half of the brick you want to remove. Usually if they are close enough together the mortar will kind of disintegrate as you go. If not, when you have all the holes hammer the chisel carefully and connect the dots breaking out the mortar.

Drill a vertical column of holes down the brick (all the way through) in the same manner and again carefully use the chisel to break the half free. Be careful with the brick, it is likely tougher than the mortar and if chiseled too aggressively might crack on the part you want to keep.

Good luck!
