cracked stucco

I have an older home that has lath and coloured motar with glass rocks. I have some cracks in where the front steps have settled. Some cracks are fairly substantial but others are very thin.
I would like to seal these cracks to keep the weather out. I am somewhat concerned about the appearance for colour. We plan to paint in the future but that will be 4 to 6yrs down the road.

Caulking would be the simplest/easiest fix.

re caulking

caulking would work on the bigger cracks but what about the smaller stuff. Is there something that can be injected that would bind to the lath and stucco?

For the fine cracks use a masonary sealer or caulk and wipe off all excess.

Mark, have you used the stucco repair materials at the big boxes? It works pretty good for small cracks, and is granular like the original stucco, which makes painting inconspicuous.

No I haven't. I don't do a lot of stucco repair, always use caulk on the small stuff and I usually got a bag of mortar lying around which works on the bigger repairs.

About the only repair I make is for real estate closings, and that is usually for the two puncture wounds near the soffit where some numbnut put his ladder against the wall and put his 250 lb rear on the ladder. Crunch. Oops.
