My foundation is cement blocks. I noticed a small hair line crack. What is the best method for repair?

crack in cement block

Is the crack in the block or in a mortar joint?

How wide is it?

Is one side displaced relative to the other or is the surface smooth?

The repair (if any is done) depends on the cause, size and type (structural or otherwise).

If it is really a hairline crack and you have proper drainage and moisture control, you may not have to do anything.

crack in foundation block

it could be caused by alot of reasons but seeing that it is just a hairline crack you could get fix-all cement patch from your hardware store but you must realize that its for cosmetic purposes.

Crack is in Mortar Joint, very thin. I just don't want it to gt any worse. Chip it over or just mortar over it? If mortar, is there a specific type?

Thanks.
