undermined foundation
ok so i am helping my friend with his property and his back house is a mess. The previous owner dug out the crawl space into a full basement but didnt make and retaining walls. and now after the years the rain has washed away the dirt and the foundation is now floating in certain areas, what would be the best way to correct this?

Hire an engineer to look at the situation and see what can be done to salvage the building.

the building is only used for storage and the undermined area is only 10-20 percent of the foundation. what i was thinking of doing is putting a new footing on the inside, and then pouring a solid concrete retaining wall about 4 ft high, that way the concrete will fill in any voids under the existing foundation and then i will run a wood wall to the floor joists to help support the load. does this seem like a possible solution.
