Removing mortar from bricks

I am cleaning bricks we cut off of walls we removed to use on new walls in a remodeling project. I've been cleaning the mortar off the bricks with a hammer and chisel but still have about 2,000 to go. Is there a power tool such as an air chisel that would make the job faster?

are the brick concrete or clay brick, in any case go to you local hardware store and purchase a Brick hammer and use the pointed side of the hammer and you should eliminate having to use a hammer and chisel you can also hose the brick down heavily with water and this will eliminate dust, just make sure to give them a good hose down a couple of days prior to re using them, dont use a grinder or air chisel because it will chip the brick
