Brick Cleaning

Brick Cleaning

I just moved into a house that looks dingy as the brick is looking rather weathered. Will simple cleaning with a brush and brick cleaning solution improve it's appearance? The house was built in 1977. It's just the first floor front of the house (facade?) that is brick. Would I need to tint the brick to get it's original brightness back?

Yes, a simple scrubbing with TSP or an equivilent will make the brick like new. Do not powerwash it, however, unless you use a fan tip.

thanks. I'll give it a try. Will Home Depot or Lowes have TSP solution?
