new drive

All

I know this is a concrete forum but the builder just came back and put the topcoat on our driveway that was started last winter. Some of the neighbors are sealing the asphalt and others are not. any advice on the best practice. i live on the water in the mid-Atlantic if that makes a difference

Sealing asphalt seals pores and keeps moisture from migrating to the base where it can eventually cause problems like cracks and pot holes. Sealer also protects asphalt from UVB rays and gas and oil spills. Many recommend waiting six months before sealing and maintaining with a new coat every 2-3 years.
