Mortar or Cement for Shower Floor?
I have a cement shower floor and I need to raise it a couple inches to fit a drain.
Once it is raised, I will install a membrane and then mortar and then tile.
Questions:
- For the bottom layer, what type of material should I use?
- I need to follow the current slope of the floor for drainage. What is a good technigue to use for this? I have heard of people using float guides. Do float guides exist?
- Is there a good book to buy that will teach me a little about the questions above?
Thanks!
