Brick over concrete sidewalk

The wife wants a new look to the front yard and thinks that since our house is brick on the front that the sidewalk and porch should match. Where can I go to find out the best method for brick or half-brick over concrete?

It is generally not a problem provided:

The existing concrete is structurally sound.

Adding the height will not adversley affect any steps or sills.

Concrete is excellent, the question I cannot find an answer for is, Do I need to put a sand layer under brick? or can I just lay brick on concrete and cement between the bricks?

It depends upon the sills and steps. Probably not.
