Weight of concr. blocks

Does anyone know how much a 16x8x8 concrete block (with voids) weighs?

Weight of concr. blocks

A normalweight 8x8x16 two core concrete block is about 38.5 pounds, but could be slightly more depending on core configuration, mortar beds and hand holds. Normal weight block are the most common.

Lightweight block are more costly and weigh less. A legitimate lightweight block would be about 28 pounds, but could go up to about 30 pounds. There are also middle weight block available in some areas.

I built my lake home with 18 pound 8" lightweight block.

These are for normal loadbearing block meeting the requirements of ASTM C90. There are no weight requirements for the block but are for the concrete density and thickness of the walls.
