Smile repainting stucco

My house exterior is the dry vit stucco. It is 15 yrs old and want to repaint. Do you have to use any particular paint and can i use a roller and what type?
Thanks in advance, Lynn

I'm not sure if I've ever painted any drivet but I"ve painted lots of stucco houses and it should be the same.

1st you want to make sure the surface is clean, repair any cracks - minor repairs can be done with caulking. If the cleaned surface is chalky you'll either need to use an oil base masonary primer sealer or add emulsa bond to your first coat of latex paint. I usually do the latter. I always use a roller - 1"-1.5" nap size. While stucco can be sprayed it still needs to be back rolled to work the paint into all the little crevices.

The better the grade of exterior latex paint you use the longer the paint job should last.
