Question Rough Surface

Recently we poured a slab to build a screened porch on and while trowling the weather turned extemely hot and the wind began blowing very hard. Between the heat and wind the concrete began to set faster than we could trowl creating a progressively rougher surface moving across the slab. I would like to leave the concrete showing if possible, but If I am unable to find a solution to smooth the surface I may have to lay indoor/outdoor carpet. Does anyone have any suggestion how to smooth a slab?

You can do one of two things with your slab. You can either rent a slab grinder and grind it smooth, or you can apply a cementious overlay like quikrete resurfacer. My recommendation would be the overlay, or carpet.

Thanks Pecos.
Have you ever used an overlay? Not being familiar with the what products are available I'm wondering about the durability of the product, finished appearance, ease of use, prep work required etc.....
