outdoor brick porch

I have a brick foundation for my outdoor porch and it needs to be pointed it is quite old. what should I use

Type S cement 1 part and sand 2 parts.

Frank99, the Brick Institute of America's recommendation for tuckpointing is to use a Type N or even a Type O mortar to repoint (Tech note 8B). Strength is not the desired characteristic, bond is. Type S masonry cement mixed with 2 parts sand will create a type M mortar which is not suitable for tuckpointing.
