Tile Over Concrete with Cracks

I am getting ready to install tile (already purchased) over an ugly concrete patio with some cracks and a little uneven in some places but not too bad. What can I do to prevent the tiles from cracking as well? Is a special grout needed?
Thanks

You will need an isolation membrane.

If this concrete is exterior and subject to moisture and freezing, don't waste your time tiling over it. The tile will pop off after a winter or two. I cannot tell you how many jobs we've torn out where people said their contractor used frost proof tile and mortar. It did absolutely no good.
