cracks in basement walls

my house was built in 1980 it is a ranch with a block basement,the basement is studded up with 2x4's and drywalled, i removed the drywall and when i exposed the block mortar joints are cracked and block work in the middle of the wall is pushed in this could not be seen from the outside. what should i do with the wall. it is pushed in about 3/4".

Have an engineer take look at it and find out if it is an old problem or an active problem.

He should also give you a good idea of the cause without a lot of tests.

Ask for options on repairs or corrections. There is a big difference between if is an intial construction problem the occurred shortly after backfilling or has a more serious cause (like bad soil).

i think it is a old problem, and i never had a water problem, i have own the house since it was built.
