Space between driveway and garage

I have a 2-car garage on a concrete slab that meets up with an asphalt driveway- I have about a 1 inch gap between where the driveway meets the garage- What can I put in that gap to seal it up and keep water out?? it's pretty deep

A landlord I do work for aquired this duplex that had the exact same thing. He got himself a bag of that asphalt patch you can buy at home centers. He poured it in, then just stepped it down. Fairly effective and satisfactory looking. But my guess would be that if you used a heavy hammer and a piece of plate steel to compact it in there, that that would be a better job for keeping out water and look better. Then if at a future date you applied that seal coat, then you wouldn't hardly notice it!

Or you could use that as a pre-fill, leaving it low. Then top it off to level with the type of caulk that stays dull looking and is used for concrete expansion joints.
