How to fix step cracks

Our house, 1960's w/ a brick veneer has one area in the middle of the house that has a nice long step crack along the grout line only. Should I chip away at the grout and fill in w/ hydraulic cement calk?

I also have a duplex w/ significant step and horizontal cracks along only the mortor line. Doesn't look like any significant movement of blocks. Are there any DIY options for me here?

Thanks in advance,

Lance

there are pleny of products at the home center to "point" your mortar joints.

Although more expensive, I prefer the stuff in the flexible tube. Easy to control and many shade choices.
