Forming concrete steps

I want to form semi-circular concrete steps off my concrete deck. Any help would be appreciated.

Semicircular steps

Give us the dimensions. Total height, diameter of the circle for the bottom step, step depth.

Each step will be a semicircle and the length of the curved form will be half the circumference of a circle of that diameter.

dusty concrete

I just had a slab poured and its dusty. I mean, if I rub the surface of it with my fingers and exert a little force the solid surface gives off a bit of grit. and if I keep rubbing I can easily rub off enough that it makes a depression. should concrete do that? :wall: ...how can I lock the slab up so that If I lay tile over it,the tile will be secure and wont come loose later?Read More

Insulating slab on grade garage floor...

BPM in Calgary on May 21, 2008

I am building a 24'x24' detached garage/workshop with the intent of using it year around up in Calgary, Alberta. Winter here can be long and cold, so I would like to minimize heat loss thru the concrete slab as much as possible. The garage floor will be slab on grade, and I would like to add insulation and a vapor barrier during construction ie. under the concrete. I have read some material regarding the use of rigid foam insulation under a concrete floor, but would like someone to more clearly explain the how&what is involved. I have spoken to a contractor who told me that the vapour barrier (poly) should be under the insulation, but this seems contrary to other info I have read....
